An object defining configuration options for the NumberBox widget.

accessKey

Specifies the shortcut key that sets focus on the widget.

Type:

Default Value: null

The value of this option will be passed to the accesskey attribute of the HTML element that underlies the widget.

activeStateEnabled

Specifies whether or not the widget changes its state when interacting with a user.

Type:

Boolean

Default Value: false

This option is used when the widget is displayed on a platform whose guidelines include the active state change for widgets.

attr

Deprecated

Use the inputAttr option instead.

disabled

Specifies whether the widget responds to user interaction.

focusStateEnabled

Specifies whether the widget can be focused using keyboard navigation.

format

Specifies the value's display format and controls the user input according to it.

The format can contain the following characters:

Format character Description
0 A digit. Displays '0' if it is not specified in the UI.
# A digit or nothing. One symbol matches several integer digits, but only one decimal digit.
For example, "#.#" matches "123.4", not "123.45".
. A decimal separator. Displayed in the localized variant.
, A group separator. Displayed in the localized variant.
% The percent sign. Divides the input value by 100.
If it is enclosed in single quotes ('%'), it only adds this sign to the input value.
; Separates positive and negative numbers. If there is no explicit negative format, a positive number receives the "-" prefix.
Other characters Any character. Should be placed only at the format string's beginning or end.
You can use the special characters above as well (in single quote marks).

height

Specifies the widget's height.

Specifies text for a hint that appears when a user pauses on the widget.

invalidValueMessage

Specifies the text of the message displayed if the specified value is not a number.

isValid

Specifies whether the editor's value is valid.

In Knockout apps, you may need to inform a user about an error that occurred during the validation of a view model field. For this purpose, set the editor's isValid option to the isValid value of the dxValidator that validates this field. To show an error message, set the editor's validationError option to the dxValidator's validationError value.

The editor's isValid and validationError options should also be specified when using a custom validation engine. In this instance, the validation result will be displayed for the editor by the means of the DevExtreme Validation UI.

rtlEnabled

Switches the widget to a right-to-left representation.

When this option is set to true, the widget text flows from right to left, and the layout of elements is reversed. To switch the entire application/site to the right-to-left representation, assign true to the rtlEnabled field of the object passed to the DevExpress.config(config) method.

validationError

Holds the object that defines the error that occurred during validation.

NOTE
This option can be overwritten while internal validation of the widget or external validators. To prevent this, set the validationError and the isValid option at the same time.

In Knockout approach, you may need to use an editor to inform end users that an error occurred during the validation of a ViewModel field. In this instance, set the editor's isValid option to the isValid property value of the dxValidator that validated the ViewModel's field. In addition, set the editor's validationError option to the validationError property value of the dxValidator object.

In the code, the login specified by an end user is validated on the level of the ViewModel. If validation of the login value fails, a validation message is displayed on the Login editor.

The editor's validationError option, as well as the isValid option, should also be specified when using a custom validation engine. validationMessageMode

Specifies how the message about the validation rules that are not satisfied by this editor's value is displayed.

  • auto
    The tooltip with the message is displayed when the editor is in focus.
  • always
    The tooltip with the message is not hidden when the editor loses focus.

The current number box value.

Specifies DOM event names that update a widget's value.

The option takes on a string value representing a DOM event name or several DOM event names separated by a space. It is recommended that you use the "keyup", "blur", "change" and "focusout" events. However, you can use other DOM events for your own discretion.

visible

Specifies whether the widget is visible.
