beginUpdate()
Prevents the UI component from refreshing until the endUpdate() method is called.
The beginUpdate() and endUpdate() methods prevent the UI component from excessive updates when you are changing multiple UI component settings at once. After the beginUpdate() method is called, the UI component does not update its UI until the endUpdate() method is called.

defaultOptions is a static method that the UI component class supports. The following code demonstrates how to specify default properties for all instances of the Resizable UI component in an application executed on the desktop.
jQuery
DevExpress.ui.dxResizable.defaultOptions({ device: { deviceType: "desktop" }, options: { // Here go the Resizable properties } });
Angular
import Resizable, { Properties } from "devextreme/ui/resizable"; // ... export class AppComponent { constructor () { Resizable.defaultOptions<Properties>({ device: { deviceType: "desktop" }, options: { // Here go the Resizable properties } }); } }
Vue
<template> <div> <DxResizable id="resizable1" /> <DxResizable id="resizable2" /> </div> </template> <script> import DxResizable from "devextreme-vue/resizable"; import Resizable from "devextreme/ui/resizable"; Resizable.defaultOptions({ device: { deviceType: "desktop" }, options: { // Here go the Resizable properties } }); export default { components: { DxResizable } } </script>
React
import dxResizable from "devextreme/ui/resizable"; import Resizable from "devextreme-react/resizable"; dxResizable.defaultOptions({ device: { deviceType: "desktop" }, options: { // Here go the Resizable properties } }); export default function App() { return ( <div> <Resizable id="resizable1" /> <Resizable id="resizable2" /> </div> ) }
dispose()
jQuery
After calling this method, remove the DOM element associated with the UI component:
$("#myResizable").dxResizable("dispose"); $("#myResizable").remove();
Angular
Use conditional rendering instead of this method:
<dx-resizable ... *ngIf="condition"> </dx-resizable>
Vue
Use conditional rendering instead of this method:
<template> <DxResizable ... v-if="condition"> </DxResizable> </template> <script> import DxResizable from 'devextreme-vue/resizable'; export default { components: { DxResizable } } </script>
React
Use conditional rendering instead of this method:
import React from 'react'; import Resizable from 'devextreme-react/resizable'; function DxResizable(props) { if (!props.shouldRender) { return null; } return ( <Resizable ... > </Resizable> ); } class App extends React.Component { render() { return ( <DxResizable shouldRender="condition" /> ); } } export default App;
endUpdate()
Refreshes the UI component after a call of the beginUpdate() method.

getInstance(element)
getInstance is a static method that the UI component class supports. The following code demonstrates how to get the Resizable instance found in an element with the myResizable
ID:
// Modular approach import Resizable from "devextreme/ui/resizable"; ... let element = document.getElementById("myResizable"); let instance = Resizable.getInstance(element) as Resizable; // Non-modular approach let element = document.getElementById("myResizable"); let instance = DevExpress.ui.dxResizable.getInstance(element);
