JavaScript/jQuery Bullet Methods

This section describes the methods that can be used in code to manipulate objects related to the Bullet widget.

See Also

beginUpdate()

Prevents the widget from refreshing until the endUpdate() method is called.

The beginUpdate() and endUpdate() methods prevent the widget from excessive updates when you are changing multiple widget settings at once. After the beginUpdate() method is called, the widget does not update its UI until the endUpdate() method is called.

dispose()

Disposes of all the resources allocated to the Bullet instance.

After calling this method, remove the DOM element associated with the widget:

JavaScript
$("#myBullet").dxBullet("dispose");
$("#myBullet").remove();

Use this method only if the widget was created with jQuery or pure JavaScript. In Angular, Vue, and React, use conditional rendering:

Angular
app.component.html
<dx-bullet ...
    *ngIf="condition">
</dx-bullet>
Vue
App.vue
<template>
    <DxBullet ...
        v-if="condition">
    </DxBullet>
</template>

<script>
import DxBullet from 'devextreme-vue/bullet';

export default {
    components: {
        DxBullet
    }
}
</script>
React
App.js
import React from 'react';

import Bullet from 'devextreme-react/bullet';

function DxBullet(props) {
    if (!props.shouldRender) {
        return null;
    }

    return (
        <Bullet ... >
        </Bullet>
    );
}

class App extends React.Component {
    render() {
        return (
            <DxBullet shouldRender="condition" />
        );
    }
}
export default App;
