DevExtreme Versions
DevExtreme does not use semantic versioning and follows the DevExpress product delivery model. Review the following article for more information: Product Delivery.
To minimize security-related risks, you should always install and use the latest available DevExtreme version.
DevExtreme Version Nomenclature
DevExtreme version notation includes three numbers:
| Number | Definition |
|---|---|
| v25.2.3 | Year of the release. |
| v25.2.3 | The release number. Mid-year and year-end releases are numbered 1 and 2 respectively. |
| v25.2.3 | Minor version. Alpha and beta versions are numbered 1 and 2 respectively. The first stable minor within each major release is 3. |
For a list of DevExtreme versions, refer to the following topic: Version History.
Release Lifespans
After we release a major DevExtreme release, we aim to publish minor updates according to the schedule below.
| Time since major release | Minor release schedule | Minor release content |
|---|---|---|
| First 12 months | Monthly | Bug fixes and resolved security issues |
| 12-24 months | As necessary | Resolved security issues only |
Major release lifespans intersect. For instance, v25.1.8 was released at a later date than v25.2.3. However, v25.2.3 is the later version in terms of feature availability.
