Vue NumberBox Methods

This section describes the members used to manipulate the widget.

beginUpdate()

Prevents the widget from refreshing until the endUpdate() method is called.

The beginUpdate() and endUpdate() methods prevent the widget from excessive updates when you are changing multiple widget settings at once. After the beginUpdate() method is called, the widget does not update its UI until the endUpdate() method is called.

defaultOptions is a static method that the widget class supports. The following code demonstrates how to specify default options for all instances of the NumberBox widget in an application executed on the desktop.

jQuery
JavaScript
DevExpress.ui.dxNumberBox.defaultOptions({
    device: { deviceType: "desktop" },
    options: {
        // Here go the NumberBox options
    }
});
Angular
TypeScript
import NumberBox from "devextreme/ui/number_box";
// ...
export class AppComponent {
    constructor () {
        NumberBox.defaultOptions({
            device: { deviceType: "desktop" },
            options: {
                // Here go the NumberBox options
            }
        });
    }
}
Vue
<template>
    <div>
        <dx-number-box id="numberBox1" />
        <dx-number-box id="numberBox2" />
    </div>
</template>
<script>
import DxNumberBox from "devextreme-vue/number-box";
import NumberBox from "devextreme/ui/number_box";

NumberBox.defaultOptions({
    device: { deviceType: "desktop" },
    options: {
        // Here go the NumberBox options
    }
});

export default {
    components: {
        DxNumberBox
    }
}
</script>
React
import React from "react";
import dxNumberBox from "devextreme/ui/number_box";
import NumberBox from "devextreme-react/number-box";

class App extends React.Component {
    render () {
        dxNumberBox.defaultOptions({
            device: { deviceType: "desktop" },
            options: {
                // Here go the NumberBox options
            }
        })
        return (
            <div>
                <NumberBox id="numberBox1" />
                <NumberBox id="numberBox2" />
            </div>
        )
    }
}

export default App;

dispose()

Disposes of all the resources allocated to the NumberBox instance.

The following code disposes of an NumberBox instance that corresponds to the element ID (or reference variable in Angular) and removes the element from the DOM:

jQuery
JavaScript
$("#myNumberBox").dxNumberBox("dispose");
$("#myNumberBox").remove();
Angular
HTML
<dx-number-box #numberBoxVar id="myNumberBox"></dx-number-box>
TypeScript
import { ..., ViewChild } from "@angular/core";
import { DxNumberBoxComponent } from "devextreme-angular";
// ...
export class AppComponent {
    @ViewChild("numberBoxVar") numberBox: DxNumberBoxComponent;

    removeNumberBox (e) {
        this.numberBox.instance.dispose();
